What are Gummy Bears?

Gummy bears  are small, fruit gum candies,. The candy is roughly 2 cm long and shaped in the form of a bear. The gummy bear is one of many gummies, popular gelatin-based candies sold in a variety of shapes and colors.

A German entrepreneur named Hans Riegel who is born in Bonn, Germany. He is the founder of the HARIBO company in 1922.  Riegel's first gummy candies were shaped like bears. Riegel was inspired by the trained bears he had grown up watching at street

What are Gummy Bears made of ?

The traditional gummy bear is made from a mixture of gelatin, sugar, glucose syrup, starch, flavoring, food coloring, and citric acid

What is Gelatin and what is it made out of?

The main ingredient in the gummy bear is made out of gelatin.

Gelatin is a yellowish, odorless, and nearly tasteless protein substance that comes from collagen. It is a natural protein found in tendon, ligaments, skin, cartilage, bones, and tissues of mammals mainly from cows and pigs. These meat are primarily from the stuff the meat industries have left. The collagen then is made into jelly.
